Ruby-throated Hummingbird

Hummingbirds can fly forwards, hover in place and are the only known birds to fly backwards. The ruby-throated hummingbird flaps its wings 80 times per second.
The black and blue salvia and is their go to choice for nectar on the patio. A second favorite is the homemade sugar water. The feedings typically are the busiest 30-60 minutes prior to sunset and the best time for viewing.
