Patio Life
“Patio Life” began with a simple question, “Why is the wasp eating the wood chair?” The answer led me to come face-to-face with a plethora of fascinating arthropods inhabiting the world right in our own back yard, reminding us, you do not have to travel far to find interesting neighbors.
The exhibit consists of 20+ large format prints on metal, an 8 x 4 wall map that serves as a reference to where the subjects were photographed, identification guide and 128 page fun fact photo book.
The pie chart to the right represents the current number of different species of insects observed in the yard – 66 different species of insects to date and 100+ species of arthropods overall.
The photo galleries below are loosely organized by class and order according to their taxonomy.
