This Tiger Swallowtail is typically one of the first butterflies, along with the Cabbage Whites, to arrive in the Spring. They can be found basking in the sun with their large wings outstretched to collect the rays of the sun to warm up their body temperatures so they can fly.
Patio Life is exhibiting at 3S Artspace in Portsmouth, NH (closed until further notice). The exhibit features over 20 large format reproductions of insects, a 6 foot wide map of where the insects were photographed and the book, Patio Life.
