This Spined Oak Borer beetle was discovered on the patio railing at night.

Apparently these type of beetles that develop under the bark of Oak trees, damaging the wood and possibly killing the tree. If you find these type of beetles in your oak tree, a combination of sprays and/or stem injections can help save the tree and remove the insects.
