This Blue Dasher Dragonfly is in what is called the obelisk posture which it assumes to prevent overheating on hot days. This is achieved by raising its abdomen to minimize the surface area exposed to the sun.

The exhibit features over 20 large format reproductions of insects, the Patio Life book, a 4 x 6 foot map and identification guide of where over 60 insects were photographed in the back yard.
